PushPod's New Plans: Free, Personal and Business
TL;DR / Quick Summary
PushPod's pricing is now three plans — Free, Personal ($20/year) and Business ($60/year) — every feature included in all of them, with plans differing only in how much you can host and how many listeners you can share with. Both paid tiers are a single yearly payment: no monthly billing, nothing extra to keep track of.
PushPod's Pricing at a Glance: Three Plans, One Yearly Payment
We've simplified the plan lineup into three tiers that map to how people actually use PushPod: trying it out, listening to your own library, and sharing a feed with listeners:
| Plan | Price | Who it's for |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | Connecting a folder and hearing the Cloud-to-Podcast Sync Pipeline work before spending anything |
| Personal | $20/year | Your own listening — audiobooks, lectures, voice notes — unlimited, for less than a coffee a month |
| Business | $60/year | Sharing feeds with listeners: unlimited scale plus unlimited audience members |
Both paid plans are billed as one annual payment — the same pricing shown on the plans page, where Stripe handles checkout and subscription management.
What's Included in Every Plan — Free Included
The tiers are deliberately not a feature ladder. Every plan — Free included — carries the full PushPod feature set:
- Unlisted RSS feeds — private feeds that never appear in Apple Podcasts, Spotify or any directory
- The Cloud-to-Podcast Sync Pipeline — folders in your cloud storage (Dropbox or OneDrive) auto-indexed into feeds, with new files becoming episodes automatically
- Video support — video files in your folder become video episodes
- Custom RSS names — your feed URL uses a name you choose, which is also your leak-mitigation switch: change it and every old URL dies
- Scheduling controls — hide future-dated episodes until their release moment
- Metadata overrides — title, artwork and episode details editable independently of the source files
- Audience Management — per-listener access keys with expiry dates and revocation (see Audience Members: Share Your Private Podcast with Per-Listener Links)
What changes between tiers is only scale: how many podcasts and episodes you can host, how many storage accounts you can connect, and how many audience members you can share with.
Plan Limits Compared: Podcasts, Episodes, Storage and Audience Members
| Limit | Free | Personal | Business |
|---|---|---|---|
| Active podcasts | 2 | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| Episodes | 2 total (2 per podcast) | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| Storage accounts | 2 | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| Audience members per podcast | 1 | 3 | Unlimited |
A note on how limits behave: hitting a podcast or episode cap doesn't delete anything — over-limit podcasts are marked and hidden from your feed until you upgrade or clear room, and your files stay in your own cloud storage throughout.
Why Billing Is Yearly Only
There is no monthly option, by design. Both paid tiers are a single payment for a year of podcasting:
- Nothing to keep track of — one charge a year instead of twelve line items on your card statement
- No fee waste — small monthly charges lose a larger share to fixed card fees; yearly billing keeps more of your payment going to the product
- Easy cancellation — manage, downgrade or cancel anytime via the Stripe Customer Portal; your plan simply runs to the end of its year
Already Paid for Full Access? You're Personal for Life
Everyone who bought PushPod's original one-time "Full Access" — and every grandfathered paid account — was automatically mapped to the Personal tier for life. No action needed, no recurring fees, ever: unlimited podcasts, episodes and storage accounts, plus 3 audience members per podcast.
Lifetime holders who want Business's unlimited audience members can upgrade deliberately, in one step: the subscription management page offers Business at the yearly price. While that subscription is active it takes precedence over the lifetime tier; if you ever cancel it in the Stripe portal, your account falls straight back to lifetime Personal — the lifetime tier is never lost by upgrading.
Upgrading, Downgrading and Cancelling
- Upgrade — pick the plan on the plans page; checkout and recurring billing are handled by Stripe
- Downgrade — via the Stripe Customer Portal; podcasts above the lower limit are deactivated (hidden, not deleted) until you upgrade again or trim back under the cap
- Cancel — via the Stripe Customer Portal; access continues to the end of the paid year. Lifetime holders simply revert to lifetime Personal
- Your audio, always yours — PushPod reads from your own Dropbox or OneDrive; cancelling never touches the source files
Frequently Asked Questions
What does the PushPod Free plan include?
The Free plan includes every PushPod feature — the same feed generation, video support and custom RSS names as paid plans — with room for 2 podcasts, 2 episodes, 2 connected storage accounts and 1 audience member. It's enough to connect a folder and hear your own feed before paying anything.
Why is PushPod billed yearly instead of monthly?
Both paid plans are a single annual payment — Personal $20/year, Business $60/year — with no monthly option. One payment a year means no small monthly charges to keep track of, for you or for us.
I previously paid for Full Access — what happens to my account?
Existing paid and grandfathered accounts were automatically mapped to the Personal tier for life. You keep recurring-fee-free access to Personal's unlimited podcasts, episodes and storage accounts, plus 3 audience members per podcast.
Can lifetime customers move up to Business?
Yes. From the subscription management page, lifetime holders can purchase Business at the yearly price. While that Business subscription is active it takes precedence; if you later cancel through the Stripe portal, your account falls straight back to lifetime Personal — you never lose the lifetime tier.
What happens to my podcasts if I downgrade or cancel?
Nothing is deleted. Podcasts beyond the lower plan's limit are temporarily deactivated and hidden from your feed, and you can re-activate them by upgrading again or trimming back under the limit. Your audio files remain in your own cloud storage the entire time.
